Thesis title: Refurbishment of internal bores on industrial components by laser metal deposition
Hank Lloyd completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and a Masters degree in Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Auckland. He published a paper as a result of his Masters research (Lloyd, H.; Xu, Y.; Cao, P. ‘Hydrogen Assisted Magnesiothermic Reduction of Y-Doped, Nanocrystalline TiO2’. Metals 2022. 12, 448. (doi.org/10.3390/met12030448). Hank commenced as a PhD candidate with SEAM in August 2021 (at the Swinburne University of Technology node). He is investigating the refurbishment of internal bores on industrial components via laser metal deposition, working closely with his industry partner to deliver specific material solutions.
