Thesis Title: Development of surface engineering methods for processing internal steel pipe diameters

Nonthapat (Non) Nawbuntud completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with Honours from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. His interest in surface engineering began during his internship with SEAM, where he worked on the innovative manufacturing of nanostructured solid-state electrolytes using suspension plasma spray. Non commenced his PhD with SEAM in April 2023 at the Swinburne University of Technology. His current research focuses on developing surface engineering methods, including thermal spray and surface peening techniques, for processing internal steel pipe diameters. This project aims to address the high corrosion rates in pipelines and structural components, a significant challenge for the energy, marine, and other industries for over 50 years.
