Industry Associate Professor Colin Hall is a researcher at the Future Industries Institute at the University of South Australia. With nine years in industry and 15 years in academia in the area of surface engineering via vacuum processes.

    • Decorative and protective coatings from 2 nm to 2 cm in thickness
    • Tribology
    • Scale up, tech transfer and commercialisation of research
  • Recent research project examples:
    • Wear resistant coatings for ground engaging mining tools with LaserBond
    • Electromagnetic transparent coatings for radar applications
    • Decorative coatings for the automotive industry

    • 2016 Prime Ministers Prize for New Innovators
